Medicare Supplements
A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan is private insurance that provides coverage above what is paid by Medicare A and B. A Supplement covers expenses such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
Medicare Supplement plans provide an insured with the flexibility of obtaining care from any U.S. provider that accepts Medicare. Some Supplement plans even cover excess charges (amount billed above Medicare assignment).
A Part D plan must be added to provide prescription coverage.
